Magnificent! What a wonderful outing. Kind of brings back some memories for me. My great-uncle was curator of the DeYoung Museum during the early 1900′s. He and his family lived in a cottage on the property. My mother used to spend time with her cousins there, and they made “at least the grounds” their play area. She said after Sunday afternoon concerts – as young children she and her cousins ‘raided the garbage cans’ for half-eaten sandwiches, and my mother also played a “california poppy” in a boat parade held on one of the lakes in the park. She remembered ‘fun’ times with her cousins in and around the gardens of DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. Thanks for bringing back some nice memories Dianne.
